Descendant Detroit Style Pizza Moves Boston Location to Revere Beach

A Boston pizzeria with Canadian roots is moving to a new location north of the city.

The Boston Restaurant Talk blog reported on Monday, March 2, that Descendant Detroit Style Pizza will relocate from the Prudential Center in Back Bay to a site near Revere Beach. The Prudential Center location has been confirmed as officially closed.

Descendant Detroit Style Pizza, which first began in Toronto, opened its Boston location in February 2025. It offers various Detroit-style pizzas, including a rectangular thick-crust pizza cooked in a pan. As the Boston Restaurant Talk blog notes, the pizza resembles a Sicilian pizza but is also similar to a Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.
