The Salem Film Fest (SFF) 2026 will return for its 19th annual documentary festival, March 26 to 29, in Salem.

SFF 2026 screenings will occur in person at the Peabody Essex Museum, Cinema Salem, the Salem Armory Regional Visitor Center, and Salem Community Access Television. Attendees will have opportunities to engage with visiting filmmakers and join film-related activities, including free community events and after-parties.

Tickets for the festival are available now on the festival website.

"This year's program reflects our commitment to showcasing bold nonfiction storytelling from around the world — films that expand our perspectives, deepen our understanding of one another, and spark meaningful conversation within our community," said Emily Abi-Kheirs, SFF director, in a statement shared with the Patch of Salem.

The festival will also feature documentary competitions, such as Mass Reality Check and Keeping It Reel, spotlighting work by Massachusetts college and high school students.

According to the Patch, eight awards will be presented, ranging from a $1,000 Special Jury Award to a $500 Award for Documentary Journalism. Several other honors include the American Cinematographer Magazine Award and the Audience Award.

Additionally, the festival will present free community events. They include the second edition of "Docs-In-Progress." The LEF Foundation sponsors this works-in-progress feedback event for New England filmmakers.
