The 130th Boston Marathon is slightly more than a month away. It will take place on Monday, April 20, starting in Hopkinton and finishing near Copley Square at the Boston Public Library.
According to the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.), the 26.2-mile Boston Marathon route "starts on Main Street in the rural New England town of Hopkinton and follows Route 135 through Ashland, Framingham, Natick, and Wellesley to where Route 135 joins Route 16. It continues along Route 16 through Newton Lower Falls, turning right at the fire station onto Commonwealth Avenue, which is Route 30."
Those who want to watch the Boston Marathon can view it on WCVB Channel 5, which will provide local coverage beginning at 4 a.m. on race day, according to the B.A.A.
Here's what you should know if you plan to watch the action in person:
Approximate Travel Times to the Finish Line
The Boston Marathon finish line is about 5.4 miles from Logan International Airport, a 17- to 20-minute drive.

You'll want to get off the train at the end of the line at Boston South Station. From there, you'll need to transfer to the Framingham Worcester line 2527. Take it to Back Bay. From there, you'll be only a half mile from the finish line at 655 Boylston St.
