Beyond Proof, a zero-proof cocktail bar led by Krista Kranyak, will open on Tuesday, April 7, at the former Ten Tables space at 597 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain. The new dining spot will offer a Mediterranean-inspired shared-plate menu and what will become Boston's first zero-proof bar.
According to a Boston Restaurant Talk blog post, Ten Tables, which had been in its Jamaica Plain location for 25 years, also operated two other locations in Cambridge and Provincetown. Those locations closed approximately 10 years ago.
This latest innovation from owner Krista Kranyak will feature a “Palm Royale” vibe, according to a Boston Globe report.
“I'm treating this bar as if there was alcohol in the glass in terms of structuring cocktails the way any mixologist would make them,” she said to the Globe.
Beyond Proof marks a shift toward alcohol-free hospitality. Kranyak herself said she'll be personally mixing the drinks behind the bar. If social consumption licenses are available for regulated cannabis use at businesses, Kranyak plans to add THC tinctures to drinks.
The Mediterranean-inspired menu will be “a little bit Greek, a little bit Lebanese, with Persian influences,” she said, with stews served in clay pots and fresh bread available.
