My First Bruins Playoff Game in Pictures, Did It Live Up to the Hype?

My first Bruins playoff game in pictures is a bitter sweet one. So full disclosure: I am a die hard Boston sports fan. Hockey is my least favorite of all four major sports, HOWEVER, I still love it. I love the passion from the players and the fans. I love the overall grit and balls from the players. I love the game itself. But this is my first time I've ever attended an NHL playoff game in person. Did it live up to the hype? Yes and no. The energy in the Garden was electric The minute I stepped foot onto Causeway Street, I could feel the energy from the fans. This town bleeds black and gold and it shows. There were fans packed in the bars and restaurants. You saw the occasional Maple Leafs fan in their blue and white and they definitely took a verbal beating for daring to show their colors in public. When I entered the Garden, after receiving my promotional Bruins yellow towel, I just knew the vibe was different. This was not a regular season game. This was the playoffs. Not the outcome I had hoped for The game itself was as exciting and stressful as I had expected. There were quite a few fights which got the crowd even more hyped. The Bruins scored first. Then the Maple Leafs scored seconds later. Then the Bruins scored and then the Maple Leafs scored the final two goals which gave them the win. The bad guys won 3-2.  You could definitely cut the tension in the Garden with a knife in the third period. And ultimately, the bad guys won this one. So was the game worth the hype? ABSOLUTELY because I was there. But because the Bruins lost, it was definitely a let down. Would I do it again? ABSOLUTELY!
