Official Contest Rules
These rules apply to WBQT-FM One Happy Teacher Contest (“Contest”) conducted by Beasley Media Group, LLC d/b/a WBQT-FM (“Station”). In addition, the General Contest Rules posted at hot969boston.com apply to this Contest. If there is a conflict between the General Contest Rules and the Rules for this Contest, the Rules for this Contest shall control.
- HOW TO ENTER
- The Contest will begin on August 19, 2024 and end on September 8, 2024.
- To enter online, visit www.hot969boston.com and follow the links and instructions to enter the Contest and complete and submit the online entry form beginning on August 19, 2024 at 5:00am Eastern Time (“ET”) and ending at 11:59am ET on September 8, 2024 (“Online Entry Period”). Online entrants are subject to all notices posted online including but not limited to the Station's Privacy Policy. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Entries submitted may not be acknowledged or returned. Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of receipt by the Contest administrator.
- Entrants will be required to nominate a teacher (the “Nominee”) by name. [Teachers between Kindergarten- 12th grade are eligible for nomination] Entrants will be required to include all requested Nominee’s contact information in order for the entry to be eligible. The Nominee must be eighteen (18) years of age or older residing in either Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or New Hampshire, as listed in Section 2. Entrants must fill in all required fields, including name, email, phone number and date of birth in the online entry form.
- Entrants may only submit one (1) nomination. A Nominee may be nominated multiple times, but only if by different entrants. Nominees are eligible to win in the Contest only once. An entrant may NOT nominate him/herself.
- There will be up to a total of one (1) Prize-winning Nominee selected in the Contest.
- ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
- This Contest is open to all Station listeners who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry into the Contest, who are legal US residents and reside Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or New Hampshire, except where prohibited by law. Winners must possess a valid, government-issued ID and show proof of residency to verify eligibility.
- These eligibility restrictions apply to both the entrant and the Nominee.
- Prize will be awarded to the Nominee listed on the online entry form, not the entrant.
- PRIZES
- Up to one (1) Prize will be awarded. The Prize consists of:
- 7-night stay for 2 adults in a Premium Oceanfront room at Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive. Travel dates: September 16, 2024 – December 20, 2024 or May 1, 2025 – December 20, 2025. The stay is valued at $5,200.
- One (1) two-thousand-dollar ($2,000) VISA gift card that winner and guest may use towards airfare and other travel costs.
- Approximate Retail Value of the Prize is $7,200.
The winning Nominee will be responsible for any flight costs, baggage fees, penalties, etc. levied by the airline prior, day of, or after the flight, above the $2,000 provided. Winner is responsible for booking their own airfare on any airline of their choice. No additional funds will be awarded to the winner should the airfare for two exceed the $2,000 allotment stipend. Actual value may vary and any difference between stated value and actual value will not be awarded. Certain travel restrictions may apply. All other costs not specifically stated herein, including but not limited to those of, taxes, meals, tips and additional ground transportation, baggage fees, hotel room service, laundry service, alcoholic beverages, merchandise, souvenirs, and local and long-distance telephone calls are the responsibility of the winner. Selection of airline, hotel, and airline seat location at sole discretion of Station and/or prize provider. Airline regulations apply. The winner and guest must travel on the same itinerary and are responsible for obtaining all required travel documents, including, without limitation, passports for international travel. If applicable, the winner may be required to present a valid credit card upon hotel check in to cover any incidental expenses incurred during the winner’s stay. Winner and guest must abide by all airline, hotel, and venue policies. The winner and guest must sign all required releases prior to booking of any travel. If winner is unwilling or unable to travel on the dates specified, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to another winner at Station’s sole discretion. All travel is subject to availability and restrictions. If a prize-related event or travel is unable to take place as scheduled, for reasons such as cancellation, preemption, postponement or unavailability, including for weather, or for any reason beyond the control of the Station and prize provider, their sole responsibility to the winner will be to award the remaining available elements of the prize(s) and no substitution or compensation will be provided for the unawarded elements of the prize(s). No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight. If winner chooses to take the trip without a guest, s/he will be awarded the prize elements for one person only, and the remainder of the prize will be forfeited without compensation. Winner understands that there are inherent risks involved in travel and that these risks may be present before, during and after the trip. In addition, winner and guest(s) should be aware of and comply with government guidelines regarding travel restrictions and mandatory quarantines before, during and after the trip. Winning Nominee will be issued a 1099 for the 2024 tax year, regardless of when winning Nominee redeemed the Prize trip.
The gift card will be subject to the terms and conditions as set forth by the issuer of the gift card. Gift cards are not refundable or transferable and may not be substituted or exchanged for cash or credit at any time, nor will gift cards be replaced if lost or stolen.
- Prizes or prize certificates must be claimed as directed by the Station at the time of winning. Failure to claim Prize by the specified time will result in forfeiture of the prize. It is the winner’s sole responsibility to claim the Prize or prize certificate within the timeline provided in these Official Rules.
- SELECTION OF WINNERS
- Up to one (1) Prize-winning Nominee will be selected on Monday, September 9, 2024 at approximately 10:00am ET in a Station-conducted random drawing from all eligible online entries received during the Online Entry Period. Potential Prize-winning Nominee will be notified by telephone promptly following the random drawing.
- Odds of winning the Prize depend on the number of eligible online entries received during the Online Entry Period.
- Nominees need not listen to the Station or be present to win.
- Prize-winning Nominee must confirm acceptance of prize within twenty-four (24) hours of winning, or risk disqualification and selection of an alternate winner (time permitting) in a random drawing of all remaining eligible entries.
- Decisions of Station management with respect to the Contest are final.
- CONDITIONS
- The Station reserves the right to end any contest or amend these rules upon announcement on air and by publication at hot969boston.com.
- For website contests: By use of the Station’s website and by entering this Contest, entrants agree to the Station’s Terms of Service Agreement and to the use of Personal Information as stated in the Privacy Policy located at hot969boston.com.
- Copies of the written Contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of the Station, 1075 Main Street, Suite 300, Waltham, MA 02451, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Station.
