This week, the VOICES theme is Storytellers and I’m featuring conversations with people telling very different stories through different forms of storytelling – film and stage. This show features two conversations. One is with gospel legend Bebe Winans, and the other with actors and filmmakers Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal.

Bebe Winans  is part of the legendary gospel family the Winans. His life story Born for This – The Musical is coming to Boston’s Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre from June 15th – July 15th.

Also featured is Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal. Daveed is an actor, rapper and singer best known for his role in the musical Hamilton for which he won a Grammy and Tony Award. He has a recurring role in Black-ish and starred in the movie Wonder. Rafael Casal is a writer, actor and producer. He’s also a poet who was featured on HBO’s Def Poetry. Together, Daveed and Rafael, best friends in real life created the movie Blindspotting that hits theaters on July 20th.
