The Weeknd took over Gillette Stadium last night for his long awaited “After Hours til Dawn” tour. I (Melissa) am a VERY big fan of his and  when I got there, I realized his fan base is WAY different than I thought it was. LOTS of YOUNG (teenagers) who appreciate his EARLY cuts. House of Balloons days.  He kicked off the show with his After Hours cut “Alone Again” on a stage that was built with so much theatrics in mind. The other cool thing about the show, we each got one of those electronic bracelets that was controlled by an engineer so they were all flashing at the exact same times. That made the set look even more visually stunning. He performed for 2 hours and about 30 songs (set list inlcuded below). Now I have been to a lot of concerts. This was one of if not THE best concert I’ve ever been to. The Weeknd sings ALL of his own songs (no lip synching here) AND there was NO breaks. He performed for two hours straight. That really is a big feat these days.  The show started around 9:10pm and ended right before 11pm. On the way out after talking to fans, it sounded like they all had the same experience I did. The Weeknd’s tour is visually a stunning masterpiece. If you have a chance to see him, PLEASE do so. You won’t regret the experience.
