Let's recap. Mom Brittany reached out to the GetUp Crew for some advice. Her 14-year-old son Jacolby wanted to adopt a shelter dog, but she wasn't sure. After talking to Brittany, we found that she was definitely on-board, but Dad needed a little convincing.

What did Jacoby do? He decided to put together a 25 page PowerPoint presentation. He gave his father all the reasons why he should be able to have his dream come true. And boy, did he present a convincing case. Well, his father basically said, “let’s make a deal.” You can check out Jacolby's presentation HERE.

The deal was, Mom Brittany would make a Facebook post about Jacolby’s plea, and if the post got 100,000 likes, he could get his dog. That was a BIG number, but we knew that our listeners would be down to help make Jacoby’s wish come true.

Unfortunately, Brittany’s post, didnt' get 100,000 likes, but it did do really well with thousands of likes, and hundreds of shares . The good news is, dad decided to jump on board and Goober joined his new forever family.

In another Facebook post, Brittany thanked This Is The Dog, which is the organization they got Goober from. It's also the same place they got their cat from 3 years ago. Brittany said, "Thank you so much to thisisthedog.org, such an amazing rescue organization. We are so blessed to have connected with them 3 years ago for our beautiful cat Blancon. Now they matched us with Goober. Lisa Sharon Muher you were so wonderful to meet today, finally 3 years later! & Kamela Robinson was the BEST foster mom Goober could have ever had. Jakolby is overjoyed, as well as the rest of us. 🐶 💙 welcome home Goober Boy"

Such a great ending to a beautiful story. Just a boy who wanted to rescue a dog. You inspire us Jacolby!
