Sports betting is set to become legal in Massachusetts tomorrow, January 31 and there is a lot of information you must know before making your first bet. The fact that betting is now legal in Massachusetts has been a long time coming and the bill was actually passed several months ago. On the wee morning hours of August 1st, I am proud to announce that the Sports Betting Conference Committee has reached an agreement on legislation that will legalize wagering on professional and collegiate sports in Massachusetts, bringing the immense economic benefits of a legal sports betting industry to MA. While the hope was to get sports betting up and running before the start of the football season, there were too many obstacles and details that needed to be sorted out so a date of January 31st was given and here we are. There are celebratory events happening at each Massachusetts casino tomorrow to commemorate the occasion. Sports celebrities will be on hand at Encore Boston Harbor throughout the day and other sports celebrities will be on hand at Plainridge Park and MGM Springfield to place the official first bets.
