I LOVE Martial Arts and I respect anyone that does any type of martial art. The benefits include increased confidence, self discipline, mental stamina, social skills, stress relief, it’s a full body workout and finally, self defense skills. If you’re not a martial arts person chances are all you thought they offered was self defense skills. WRONG!! But even if that was it, you should be running to a martial arts class ASAP. This world is crazy man!! Anyway, we all have favorites. And as much as I respect every martial art, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is my favorite. And I’ve done a few different styles, so I’m not just pulling that opinion out of my ass.
What's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu you ask?
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a self-defense martial art and combat sport. It's based on grappling, ground fighting (ne-waza) and submission holds. BJJ focuses on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground, controlling one's opponent, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokeholds. He’s 44 and still performing like he’s in his 20s. I’m not saying it’s because of BJJ, but I’m not saying that it’s not because of BJJ.
Mario Lopez
He’s so into BJJ that he convinced his Saved By The Bell frenemy Zach Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) to get into it too. So Slater AND Zach both train BJJ!
