Are you someone that wouldn't be able to handle it if you didn't have spellcheck? You are definitely not alone. There are lots of words that people have a really tough time with, and Google ranked the most-misspelled words.

Before we continue, Pebbles wants to brag that she was crowned the 2nd grade spelling champ in Mrs. Hitchcock's class. Congratulations!

Why are we such bad spellers?

We all know someone who has a tough time spelling. We may be that person. A lot of us have developed bad spelling habits over time and it's even worse today because of technology and the ways we communicate. Between texting and social media, it's no wonder we're a mess. We also use a lot of abbreviations now, and when you don't spell things out for a while, you tend to forget. But the good new is, spelling is not a reflection of intelligence.

These misspelled words aren't so tough

Back to all the awful spellers out there. Now to clear something up, these aren't the hardest words to spell. None of these on the list will be ones that you see on the Scripps Spelling Bee. These are the words people Googled the most, to find out how to spell them. Because that's what you do when you can't spell right? We all know we can't trust "ducking" autocorrect.

How did we get the list?

The info comes from the website Word Unscrambler. The site is a tool for people who play Scrabble and other word games. You put in a group of letters, and the site will tell you all the words you can make from it. Sounds a little like cheating to me, but I digress.

To come up with this list, the site researched Google searches from the past year. They then looked at the number of times they were searched, and that gave us the top 10 most misspelled words.

NOTE: Please excuse any misspellings in this post.

#10 - Congratulations

I know a lot of people who spell this with a "d" instead of a "t'. As in congraDulations.

#9 - Diarrhea

Hopefully you don't have to experience this much, so that you don't have to write it out and spell it.

#8 - Bougie

Someone tell the Migos they're spelling this wrong on their song Bad and Boujee. Personally, I think either way is fine.

#7 - Maintenance

I'm sure it's the "ance" that trips people up. The monthly search volume - 8,500

#6 - Niece

It's the "ie" that always gets everyone. The monthly search volume - 9,200

For some reason this is one I've never had a problem with. The monthly search volume - 9,400
