Jeffrey Dahmer loved RnB according to singer Lyfe Jennings. Lyfe recently told the story about how when he was very young, he was in the same facility as Dahmer who confessed to him that he loved RnB and actually asked him to sing him a song: "He was like I like R&B, and you will never guess what song he asked me did I know, Mint Condition’s “Breakin My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes).”

That is just one interesting fact about the serial killer that the world has become obsessed with since his series debuted on Netflix. For whatever reason, the world wants to learn more about the man who was single handedly responsible for the murder of 17 people. He actually loved metal music too, specifically Black Sabbath.

Jeffrey Dahmer's Netflix series has become a global phenomenon. The series was created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, it stars Evan Peters as Dahmer, alongside Richard Jenkins, Molly Ringwald, Michael Learned, and Niecy Nash.  However, not everyone has received the series well. Relatives of Dahmer's victims have expresses frustration saying the series has forced them to relive their traumas all over again. The sister of one of his victims Rita Isbell says that not only has it been traumatic, but they weren't asked any questions by producers and they weren't given any money from royalties of the series. “If the show benefited them in some way, it wouldn’t feel so harsh and careless,” says Isbell, referring to the victims’ families. “It’s sad that they’re just making money off of this tragedy. That’s just greed.”

So what is the world's infatuation with serial killers? We may never know. It's hard to get inside the mind of someone who was intrigued on doing such heinous acts.  What makes them tick? Do they have interests like you and me? When it comes to Dahmer, there are many things about him that may shock you. Interesting facts that you probably never knew. Here are just some of those facts that may make your watching of the series a bit different.

Dahmer's father got him interested in dissecting animals at a young age

Lionel Dahmer was a chemist and got Jeffrey interested in dissecting animals at a young age. Jeffrey actually liked to use the bones of animals to play Fiddlesticks.

Dahmer made money in school by pulling pranks and mimicking autistic students

Dahmer was a social outcast in school. He became popular because he would mock autistic students and he would pull pranks on people.

Dahmer actually helped police find remains of his victims

When Dahmer was arrested, he actually helped Milwaukee police find remains and bodies of his victims.

Dahmer had a brother who changed his name and disappeared from public eyes

 Named David Dahmer, Jeffrey's brother was six years younger than him. After Jeff's crimes came to light, David changed his name and disappeared. Word is he has a family and a career and is very happy. 

Dahmer was building an altar out of skulls and bones from his victims

Dahmer was attempting to build an altar out of his victims as a place he could sit and embrace the essence of the crimes he'd committed.

Dahmer was a fan of Black Sabbath

Dahmer was a known fan of metal music, specifically Black Sabbath songs Iron Man, Paranoid and  The Wizard.

Dahmer worked in a chocolate factory

In January 1985, Dahmer was hired as a mixer at the Milwaukee Ambrosia Chocolate Factory, where he worked from 11 p.m to 7 a.m. six nights per week, with Saturday evenings off.

Dahmer once took a human head to work

Dahmer once took a mummified head into work and stored it in his locker. In an interview he admitted "I wanted to keep something of the person with me.”

Dahmer was obsessed with Star Wars and The Exorcist III

According to an interview:  "He relished the wickedness of the Emperor in Return of the Jedi, even going as far as wearing yellow contact lenses to resemble the Star Wars villain. Dahmer was also fixated on The Exorcist III, which focuses on the horrific exploits of a supernatural serial killer."

Many say Dahmer's surgery as a kid made him into the serial killer he turned into

Dahmer had hernia surgery at 5 years old. His dad once said that Jeffrey had paranoia that his genitals had been cut off during that surgery. “I think it was a cumulative thing,” he said. “There were several events in his life starting with the hernia operation,” where Dahmer expressed “concern about having his penis cut off.” 

Dahmer tried to create "sex zombies"

According to www.cracked.com "Eventually, Dahmer got tired of “the labors of body disposal” and “stepping over bodies in the bathtub as he showered,” so he experimented with injecting acid or otherwise drilling into the heads of his victims to create passive “zombies” he could keep alive. Clearly, that was one genre of horror film he hadn’t studied, or he’d know that never works out."
