Kirstie Alley stole our hearts as Rebecca Howe in the NBC sitcom Cheers. For this role, she received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe in 1991. She received additional Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for the hit sitcom Veronica's Closet which aired from 1997-2000. In more recent years, she appeared as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars in which she came in second place. And finally, in 2022 she appeared on the Fox singing competition show The Masked Singer." Kirstie passed away yesterday from cancer. Her children True and Lillie released a statement saying "We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered. She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother." Kirstie was 71 years old.
