Nothing like a night out with friends. Eating, drinking, and having fun with your besties is the best. It's always great to go to a new or favorite restaurant, catch the latest movie, or hit up a bar to watch the Pats play. Well there are some new and different ways to have fun, as well as some classics making a comeback with a twist. If you're looking to eat, drink and have a wicked good time in Boston, we got you!
Pickleball - All the Rage
If you haven't heard of pickleball yet, give it a minute, you will. It's been called the fastest growing sport in America, and I had heard of it but had no idea what it was. It's basically a game that can be played indoors or outdoors, and played by either two or four players. And you use a ball similar to a whiffle ball. Think ping pong meets tennis meets badminton. I'll introduce you to a new pickleball/bar/restaurant/ fun vibes spot that opened in June. If you want to learn a little about the sport and how to play, you can get more HERE.
An axe-citing good time
The first axe-throwing bar in Boston opened back in 2018. Since then, there have been lots of options added. Personally, I'm not sure I trust myself enough to do this, but I heard it's a lot of fun. Ramiro and his wife went and said that they loved it. I'll show you the different places you can go.
A classic gets an upgrade
Dart-throwing is a classic at your local dive or sports bar. It's been given a makeover and a whole new vibe. This seems more up my alley. I would be much better, and less dangerous, at throwing darts than an ax. Lol
Ping Pong baby!
Another classic emerges from the basements of homes, and out into a funky and fun atmosphere. What I love about ping pong is that anyone can play no matter your skill level.
If you're looking for something new and different to do with your friends, or to help celebrate a special event, here's Where to Eat, Drink, and Have a Wicked Good Time in Boston.
PKL Boston
PKL is the first pickleball venue in Boston. This definitely looks like a fun place to get together with friends and the food looks incredible! You rent the courts by the hour ($75) and each comes with a "cabana" for 8-10 people. If you're going to order food, and of course you are, you'll need to book a minimum of 90 minutes. They also have cornhole and shuffleboard too! Check out the space and get more info HERE.
Urban Axes in Somerville
If you're looking to try axe throwing, here's one of the many places to give it a try. This was actually the first in the Boston area. It's located at 2 Union Square in Somerville, parking is limited and you can walk in, but I would book ahead. Get all the info HERE.
And don't you deserve as much joy as this woman? Lol
Revolution Axe in Everett
Revolution Axe is located in Everett. They do serve alcohol, but don't have a kitchen. The good news is, they do allow outside food, so BYOS (bring your own snacks!) Make your reservations HERE.
Half Axe in Marlboro
This is the one that Ramiro went to. This one is located on the top floor or Apex Entertainment Center. They do serve alcohol and serve local craft beers, ciders, seltzers, and some wine. As far as food, they have pre-packaged snacks like chips and candy. They do allow you to bring in outside food. Make your reservations HERE.
Axe throwing in your wedding dress is pretty badass!
Agawam Axe House
Not sure if this is a deal-breaker for you, but no alcohol is allowed here. That said, it still looks like a lot of fun and you are allowed to bring in outside food and non-alcoholic drinks. They have soda, water, and energy drinks for sale. Make your reservation HERE.
Flight Club - Dart throwing in the Seaport
If you're looking to throw some darts, here you go! Food, drinks, happy hours, and lots of fun with friends! Get all the info HERE, and have a blast!
Spin - Ping Pong in Boston
This place looks so cool. I mean visually awesome! I haven't played ping pong in years, but I'm definitely going to get on it! And the food looks incredible! Make your reservations HERE.
