LeBron James has agreed to join the Los Angeles Lakers next season.

Initially, reports said that LeBron would wait till Tuesday July, 3rd, to announce where he would be playing come the 2018-2019 NBA Season, but of course, Adrian Wojnarowski got the information two days early.

What does this mean for the Lakers moving forward?

Well, it means they just got the best player in the world the commit to at least three of the next four years.

If you were wondering how much it costs to have the best player in the NBA on your team, it costs $36.65M the first year, $37.43M the second year, $39.21M the third, and if there happens to be a fourth, $41M.

James’ contract has an opt-out clause after the third year in LA, and also does NOT have a no-trade clause, which means yes, if the Lakers so please, they could trade LeBron James.

If they dare.

The news comes as a surprise to some. A lot of experts thought he would go to Houston or Philly with their talented and already successful core and chase some championships, but that was clearly not the case.

Looks like his friend, Dwyane Wade, was telling the truth, his decision would be based on family, which lives in LA, and it was.

The news came last night via LeBron James agency, Klutch Sports Group.

Now, the burning question in the NBA is what will San Antonio do with Kawhi Leonard. It has been reported that the Celtics, Sixers, and Lakers have aggressively pursued trading for Leonard, but still no deal yet.

@Wojespn tweeted this last night though.

LeBron received much praise from both NBA players and Cleveland Cavaliers fans. Which is much different than the first time he left.

Well, now the next chapter has begun for LeBron, will he be able to bring another championship to the LA Lakers?

Only time will tell.
