Yesterday (Feb. 26), Grammy award-winning producer Timbaland announced that he would be teaching his first-ever Masterclass on production and beat making.

He announced the news on his Twitter page. The class consists of 15 lessons and costs $90, or $180 for a year’s worth of full access to all of Masterclass’ classes. The various lessons range from “Building Beats” to “Song Origins”.
The lessons can be done at your own pace, and the only thing that’s needed is a computer and a microphone.
“It’s all about your energy, what you put into the record. The beat has to be infectious first,” Timbaland said in a press release. “I want to give all the knowledge that I can give, that’s what I’m here on earth to do. We have so much available to us, it’s all in you and what you want to do. If you love it that much, it’s gonna happen.”
The producer said that the key to production is beliving in yourself and finding partners that can help your ideas come to fruition.
“When it comes to music production, the key is believing in your own ideas and finding collaborators that can help those ideas breathe. In my MasterClass, students will walk away with the essentials to bring their own beats to life, giving them the confidence to find collaborators that believe in their vision as much as they do,” Timbaland explained.
The producer has produced hits like Missy Elliott’s “Get Ur Freak On,” Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack,” Aaliyah’s “4 Page Letter,” and Beyonce’s “Rocket”.
He also joins other Masterclass instructors like Carlos Santana and Usher.
