Is Quaden Bayles 9 or 18? Does it Really Matter?
The internet does it again. It takes a really sad story of a young boy being bullied and turns it into a conspiracy theory of sorts. The original video shows an Australian boy, 9 year old Quaden Bayles, crying in the back seat of his mom’s car asking for a knife so he can kill himself because he’s constantly being bullied.
Ever since this video was shared and went viral, celebrities have come out to show their support. A Gofundme page was started as well in a quest to send young Quaden to Disney. However now people are starting to question Quaden’s mother’s motive in sharing the video in the first place. Some even questioned Quaden’s real age saying he’s really an 18 year old boy. That theory was proven false by Snopes.com. But regardless of anything, the fact of the matter is, there is a young boy with achondroplasia dwarfism who obviously does not have the easiest life. Why do we as a society feel compelled to come down on this boy? Isn’t that doing the very thing he was upset about in the first place? Now you can question his mother’s motives and maybe put some blame on her for exposing her son’s situation the way she did. However, trying to expose this boy and put any blame on him is just wrong.
