A top 5 finalist on American Idol has quit the competition due to a controversial video from his past. A rep for Caleb Kennedy confirmed he’ll no longer be moving forward on the show after a video surfaced showing him next to someone wearing what appears to be a KKK hood.  16 year old Caleb posted on his IG saying he was no longer gonna be on Idol ‘cause of “a video that surfaced on the internet and it displayed actions that were not meant to be taken in that way. I was younger and did not think about the actions, but that’s not an excuse.” He apologized then said he was taking time away from social media to better himself and hopes he can one day regain his fan’s trust. His mother is defending him saying he’s not racist and the video was made when he was 12 after seeing the movie ‘The Strangers: Prey at Night.'  Idol will continue with the 4 remaining contestants Willie Spence, Grace Kinstler, Chayce Beckham and Casey Bishop.
