Boston Restaurants Host Charity Cocktail Fundraiser for California Wildfire Victims
Several Boston-area restaurants are raising funds to help the victims of California’s catastrophic wildfires.
Monument Restaurant & Pizza, Prima Italian Steakhouse, and Waverly Kitchen & Bar in Charlestown have collaborated on the Sunrise Spritz, a charity cocktail fundraiser. A portion of the proceeds from each cocktail sold will be directed to the California Community Foundation’s Wildlife Recovery Fund.
“It’s gonna aid in assisting first responders, survivors, providing them with food and shelter if necessary,” said Alexa Palladino, general manager at Waverly Kitchen & Bar, in an interview with Boston 25 News.
Cambridge-based Source Restaurants, located on Church Street in Harvard Square, announced it will donate all money from sales of its Perfect Harmony drink toward wildfire relief efforts. The restaurant is partnering with World Central Kitchen, which offers food and drinks to first responders who are on the frontlines of battling the inferno.
Source Restaurants owner Brian Kavorkian told WBZ-TV CBS Boston, “Terrifying and one of the worst things I’ve ever seen, and I lived in California, so seeing that makes me feel so sad for all the people that I know out there,” he said. “It means a lot to me to give back there, especially to the communities, because you know the struggles that the people are going through, and it’s going to be so hard to get your life back on track.”
