There’s lot to do to prep for the new school year, but organizing your child’s closet is an important one.  Here are five tips to organizing your child’s closet to get the school year off to a clutter-free start!

Do a Massive Clean Out Before the School Year

This seems like an obvious tip, but it always bears mentioning.  In order to organize your child’s closet, you need to assess what’s there in the first place.  Items still fit?  Keep them!  Too small? Set them aside to donate or to sell.  Once you do this, even a parent will feel ready to take on the new school year.

Bins and Labels are your friends

To help corral some of the madness in your child’s closet, invest in some storage bins to sort certain items together.  Make sure to label each bin to make items easy to find.

Hanging shelf with days of the week outfits

Getting ready for school is always a chore, but you can cut down on the time it takes to get ready by picking out outfits on Sunday for the whole week.  You can then organize your week in clothes with one of these hanging storage shelves.

Add a hanging closet rod

Need more hanging space?  Get one of these hanging closet rods to increase your hanging space by nearly double!  Gotta love that fool-proof installation, too.

Look into over-the-door storage options

Need additional shoe storage?  Maybe jewelry storage?  Or even a place to put your dirty clothes?  There are many over-the-door options available to you that will be organizational life savers!

Favorite part about "Back To School" time for blogger Erica Banas?  All the killer clothing sales for her ever-growing teenage stepson ...and maybe she picks up something for herself, too!

(Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
