Papa John’s Founder ‘Isn’t Going Quietly’
The founder of pizza chain, Papa John’s, John Schnatter isn’t going quietly after being booted as the company’s spokesperson. The marketing firm, Laundry Service who at one time wanted to bring on Kanye West as a spokesperson for the pizza chain, said that their suggestion was denied after Schnatter stated that he didn’t want to work with West because he used the N-word in his music. Schnatter sent a memo over the weekend and criticized the board for forcing him to step down, “I agreed, though today I believe it was a mistake to do so. I have checked with corporate governance experts who tell me that this was not a proper action by the Board.” Schnatter wrote in the memo. Schnatter’s lawyer, Patricia Glaser, who is also Harvey Weinstein’s lawyer was quoted as saying that Schnatter is “not going quietly.” Do you think the board did the right thing by firing Schnatter?
