Get your tissues ready. This one's a tear-jerker. Chastity Patterson is from Arkansas and after her father died, she continued to text his phone every day. The day before the fourth anniversary of his death, she texted, āHey Dad, itās me. Tomorrow is going to be a tough day again.ā She then mentioned all the things she achieved since he passed, including graduating and beating cancer.
She then got the shock of her life when she got a message back. It said, āHi sweetheart, I am not your father, but I have been getting your messages for the past four years. I look forward to your morning messages and your nightly updates.ā He went on to tell her that his name was Brad and that he had lost his daughter in a car accident and her messages kept him alive. He said that when she texted him, he knew it was a message from God. He congratulated her for her growth, told her that she is an extraordinary woman, and wished his daughter could have become the woman that she is.
So I guess this story is a few years old, but for some reason is making the rounds again. Chastity told her story to Dr. Oz. You can check it out here.
How To Bring More Joy To Your Instagram Feed
We could all use more joy in our lives. Things that make us smile, laugh, and just feel good. Lately I've had several conversations with different people about happiness and joy. Conversations about being more intentional about doing more of the things that bring us happiness.
Letting go of the things that weigh us down, and working hard on adjusting how we look at difficult situations. Making simple shifts in attitude don't make them go away, but they sure do make them easier to deal with.
We all spend so much time online and on our phones, that who you follow on social media can make a huge difference between feeling good, and feeling like trash. Personally, I want to feel good.
I rounded up some of my favorite feel good people and accounts to help bring more joy to your Instagram feed.
Enjoy! And if you're looking for some feel good fall activities, here you go!

Such a beautiful and uplifting account. Run by author/artist/optimist Dani DiPirro, sure to bring a smile to your face.
@knucklebumpfarms
You're going to love Emmanuel, Princess and the rest of the crew at Knuckle Bump Farms. It's a small hobby farm in South Florida run by Taylor Blake. My favorites are when she uses Emmanuel's full name...Emmanuel Todd Lopez.
@thecharcuteriemama
Sometimes you just want to look at beautiful food. Channy makes some of the most beautiful boards and grazing tables I've ever seen. Almost too beautiful to eat. Almost! She serves Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
@csiriano
I just love Christian Siriano! I fell in love with him when he won Project Runway, and then when he became a guest judge and mentor, and has build this big, beautiful brand. I'm no expert on fashion, but give me one of Christian's flowy, tower-of-tulle skirts and I'm happy.
@carlaphall
One of my favorite Top Chef contestants, Carla Hall just has joy radiating out of every pore. Follow her for a pick-me-up, as well as some yummy food.

Drew Barrymore is just a ray of sunshine. She's happy and silly and beautifully emotional. This video of when she finds a window while doing home renovations is so great.

Ok this is Melissa's recommendation. She loves Tucker! She even wore a Tucker mask. Lol
