Yup, "winter penis" is a thing. And while it sounds scary (it kinda is) it's really not THAT bad and there's ways to avoid it. If you live in any cold areas of the United States, you are definitely at a higher risk for "winter penis." But don't worry. There are ways to avoid it and we're here to help you out.

First up, let's determine exactly what "winter penis" is. Well, you've heard the word shrinkage right? From a classic TV show Seinfeld, that word really became famous. It's the situation where when a man's penis gets cold and/or wet, it tends to shrink "like a frightened turtle." Well you can apply this to cold air as well, not just cold water. When cold air is rampant, blood flow may be restricted to the area and cause genitals to shrink. It can shrink up to 50 percent AND, make it impossible to maintain an erection. It actually has a medical name. It's called vasoconstriction.

Now there is a simple fix to "winter penis." GET WARM! If you find yourself in a cold area, get into a warm area immediately if you can. This will bring the penis back to its "normal" size. You can also wear insulated underwear and pants.

So never fear. If you're experiencing "winter penis," get yourself a new pair of insulated underwear immediately.
