Kanye West’s Identity Stolen In Million-Dollar NY Fashion Week Scam
Rapper-producer Kanye West was reportedly at the center of a recent NY Fashion Week scam.
Kanye West’s name was forged in a NY Fashion week bid, according to TMZ.
A guy who is an alleged former friend and associate of West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint secretly contacted Phillip Plein, who is currently curating a huge NYFW event this coming Monday.
The man pretended to be a representative for West and began negotiating for the rapper-producer to perform for $900,000, which Plein wired in advance to an account. The guy forged West’s name, and when the money came he swiftly emptied out the bank account.
Neither West nor Plein has commented on this, as of yet.
