Lastly, Bid-On-Equipment details the topic one-step further in naming the best 20 cities for Korean BBQ. So, where does Boston stand?
#31
The good news is that Boston made the list. The bad news is that there are 30 cities above the capital of Massachusetts that were identified as being more obsessed with BBQ. Boston ranked #31, just above Tucson, AZ and below Houston, TX. From the Mid-Atlantic up the coast to the Northeast, only Baltimore and Virginia Beach ranked higher than Boston.
Furthermore, Boston is listed as the 20th city for Korean BBQ. Bid-On-Equipment describes the difference with Korean BBQ by explaining how they use sweet sauces as opposed to dry rubs. In addition, “it’s also often cooked on a smaller grill at the center of the table for a unique dining experience,” they say.

Massachusetts BBQ Ribs Restaurant Ranked #1 in the State
The official BBQ of the Worcester Red Sox is also the official BBQ Ribs of Massachusetts. B.T.’s Smokehouse in Sturbridge is well-known for their fine quality natural meats. Now, LoveFood has ranked their BBQ Ribs as #1 in the state of Massachusetts.
B.T.’s meats are dry rubbed and slow smoked for up to 24 hours with local cherry and hickory woods. It’s an approach that owner Brian Treitman attributes back to when they were cooking and serving out of a roadside trailer.
“I try to cook my BBQ the way you think BBQ should taste. When you think about a pork rib, in your mind it is tender, succulent, ready to fall off the bone with a little smoke and glazed with a flavorful, spiced, sweet sauce. You want to lick your fingers – no need for a napkin. That’s the way I try to cook”, Treitman explains on the B.T.’s Smokehouse website.
Menu Items
Their menu includes many southern BBQ favorites available as a platter or as a sandwich. Equally as important, a great BBQ restaurant has to offer an array of delicious side dishes. At B.T.’s this includes – Mac and Cheese, fry rub fries, beer battered onion rings, chopped salad, hush puppies and much more.
Finally, to wash it all down you can – BYOB. Their indoor or outdoor seating options allow you to bring a cooler filled with your favorite beverage. Perfect to accompany the BBQ sizzle.
According to the story, LoveFood based their choices on “user reviews, awards, and accolades, and the first-hand experience of our team. They’re also regularly checked and updated.” This analysis seems to perfectly align with B.T.’s Smokehouse’s mission.
“Our passion and love for food is something we hope you will feel and taste in every bite of our food,” Treitman concludes. It’s safe to say – mission accomplished with B.T.’s BBQ Ribs now being ranked as #1 in the state of Massachusetts.
