Girl Scout cookie season will soon be upon us, and looks like there will be a couple changes this year. Every year, we all look forward to stocking up on Thin Mints, Caramel Delites, Peanut Butter Patties, and our other favorites. Unfortunately, this year, one of the fan-favorites will be missing from the lineup.
Girl Scout cookie prices on the rise
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but looks like inflation will be hitting your favorite sweet treats. Girl Scouts of America in Massachusetts, as well as New York, have already announced the price increase. They say that each box will be sold for $6 dollars. That's up an entire dollar from last year. Why the increase? They claim that a rise in food production, labor, and transportation costs, has forced them to hike up the price.
No more Raspberry Rally cookies
The cookie that caused a whole lot of drama last year, is no more. Girl Scouts announced that the Raspberry Rally is being discontinued. So last year, Raspberry Rally cookies were unveiled. It was part of a pilot online-only sales program. Girl Scouts said that it was "a fun and new way to teach girls omnichannel business skills and expand our cookie portfolio by introducing an exciting new flavor profile to the Girl Scout Cookie Program." They said that yes, they were extremely popular last year, but they want to prioritize the classic varieties.
The Raspberry Rally madness

You may remember that back in March, the Raspberry Rally became the first cookie to be sold only online. I ended up selling out super fast, and of course, here come the opportunists. An unauthorized reseller market opened on eBay. Prices ranged from $15 to $180 dollars for 10 packages of cookies. Of course the Girl Scouts were upset and encouraged people to use that money instead to support girls by buying other varieties.
So yes, prices are going up, and one of your favs may be gone. But remember, when you buy Girl Scout cookies from a local girl/troop, proceeds from the sale stays local and helps girls in your community!
The Best Pumpkin Spice Lattes In And Around Boston – There IS One Favorite
It is officially fall on Saturday, September 23rd and pumpkin lovers can finally rejoice. Pumpkin everything is BACK! That of course means the ever popular pumpkin spice latte. Pumpkin spice lattes are a sign that football, crisp air, Halloween and everything else fall is upon us. And for this reason, we wanted to find out where we can go in and around Boston to get the absolute best pumpkin spice latte. And where else would we go to get this information? Of course, we asked YOU, the listeners. And you are very passionate about where to get your delicious warm fall treat. But before we get to the list, let's take a look at what exactly goes into a pumpkin spice latte.
Of course you have to start with milk. You can use whole, skim, almond, oat...whatever type of milk you'd like. You then need pumpkin flavor which, if you ask Starbucks, they'll tell you they use pumpkin syrup which includes sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and pumpkin puree. Then, depending on the place, you'll have brewed espresso and top it all off with whipped cream and some cinnamon. The ingredients vary depending on the place you go but for the most part, the lattes taste very similar.
So we asked you where your favorite place to go to get a pumpkin spice latte is. We were asking for places in and around Boston. You delivered. From Rhode Island, to Cambridge, to Wrentham and to Boston, you're going to learn about some places that have some delicious lattes. Oh and by the way, you won't have to drink them hot. Iced lattes are just as popular as hot ones.
So before you decide where to get your breakfast this weekend, check out this list. If we missed one, let us know.
Starbucks
Okay, this is an obvious one. Starbucks is a clear favorite among our listeners. It was the place mentioned most often. Whether you like it hot or iced, you can always count on a delicious pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks. According to Kelly Marie: "They add an extra sweet pumpkin flavor to the drink, not to mention the cold foam is orange so it adds a nice touch, really reminds me of Fall."
Honeydew
Honeydew doesn't get the respect it deserves. Honeydew was mentioned by at least a couple of our listeners. They also come in iced. Unfortunately there aren't as many Honeydew locations as there are Starbucks or Dunkin' so you may have to travel a bit.
Rosie's Cafe in Lowell
I had never heard of this place but they were mentioned. They were voted "Best in Lowell." They have a 4.5 rating out of 5 on Google. One rating said they make the best coffee in town.
Heav'nly Donuts
There are several locations for Heav'nly Donuts in and around Boston. Their North Andover location seems to get the most love.
New City Microcreamery
Who would think an ice cream shop would be known for its lattes. They have been voted best ice cream in Massachusetts. They have several locations but our listener mentioned the Cambridge one. According to Gerardo "cause the staff makes it old school and they do not add any extra ingredients. Just something about it taste really good. The staff is really great as well. Very friendly."
Crosby's in Wrentham
Crosby's motto is: "serving locally roasted coffee, baked goods and good vibes." The owner Meg says she quit her 9-5 job to take a leap of faith to open Crosby's. Thankfully, she did and it's paying off.
Coffee break in Hyde Park, Milton & Quincy
What makes Coffee Break different than everyone else? According to their site: "Each drink is made to order to the customer’s personal liking. We believe in good old fashioned drinks, we stir the sugar in our hot coffees; we melt the sugar in our iced coffees and mix them “bartender style” with a mixing cup."
Presto Strange O Coffee Co in Warwick, RI
According to Eliana Montalvo, they "have the best specialty drinks and Latte Love in Warwick." Their site describes themselves as "delivering delicious drinks, breakfast and lunch to the Warwick area. Coffee, tea, espresso, matcha, lemonade, and more!
Dunkin'
Many people love Dunkin' but in all actuality, Dunkin' was low on the poll here. My Chau says she loves Dunkin' because " it tastes sweeter and is more flavorful in my opinion."
Caffe Nero
Caffe Nero has several locations. I love how you can drink in the store and they'll put their coffee in a mug for you. They are an Italian-influenced coffeehouse company headquartered in London, England but have several locations in the U.S. According to its website, they offer "a more subtle approach to its ... Or why not go all in and order Starbucks' ultimate nod to autumn, the vegan pumpkin spiced latte."
The Valley Bean in Uxbridge
Jillian Snell says you also "have to try their witches potion flavored coffee." They have a 4.5 rating out of 5 on google.
