I get it, being single on Valentine's Day can be tough. Especially if you really want to be in a relationship. As soon as the Christmas trees were taken down, they were replaced with hearts, chocolates, and flowers everywhere. Your social media feed will be flooded with couples showing their love. It can definitely leave you feeling single AF.

But you know what? It doesn't have to be a down day. You can decide to make it a great day regardless of your relationship status. There are so many options for the day if you're just open to it. Sure if you venture out today you'll probably be surrounded by couples. But don't let that get you down. Being part of a couple doesn't guarantee your happiness, so why not enjoy the benefits of being single while you can.

Here are some ideas of things you can do to live your best single life on Valentine's Day!

Cook for yourself

Find a new recipe and get cooking! I find it very therapeutic to chop things, and mix things, and best of all, eat things.

What about your friends?

Get together with some of your besties and do something fun. Since Valentine's Day is on a Tuesday this year, why not celebrate Taco Tuesday and play some board games? Have fun with your friends!

Why just love yourself, when you can LOVE yourself. Enjoy some quality time with yourself and maybe buy yourself a new toy!

Treat yo' self

Doesn't have to be anything big, but even buying yourself something as small as a new lipstick or shirt can make you feel new. Go ahead, you deserve it!

Gym & juice

Get that body moving and those endorphins flowing! And when you're with like-minded people, all the more fun. So dance, lift, stretch, or do whatever makes you feel good.

So fresh, so clean

Time to relax! Head to the spa to get a massage, get your hair done, your nails, a facial, or whatever makes you feel good.

Don't Stop. Get it, get it.

Ahhh my favorite activity! Binge-watching. Still currently obsessed with Korean shows, and will definitely be getting in some episodes today.

Buy you a drink

Why not get a friend or two, or even just go sit at a bar by yourself? Have a delicious, fancy, creative drink to lift your spirits.

Bitch, don't kill my vibe

If you're in a negative space about the day, stay off social media. Nothing good is going to come of it, and it'll give you a chance to take a break.

WuTang (and you) is for the children

Is there anything that can cheer you up as fast as a kid? Love on your own kids, borrow your nieces and nephews, or volunteer to babysit for your coupled up friends with kids.

Laugh now, cry later

What makes you laugh? Is it a favorite movie? Comedy show? Scrolling TikTok? Whatever you need to do to laugh, do that.

Sing your heart out! How fun would this be? Get some other single friends together and sing your favorite feel good songs!

Ice Ice Baby

If you've never gone ice skating before, you don't know what you're missing. Even if you have no idea what you're doing and know you'll spend most of the time falling, it's still fun. You could always do like I did when I went, use one of the things kids use to keep from falling.

O.P.P. (Other People's Pets)

Don't have your own dog, cat, or other pet? Borrow a friend's and have a good snuggle sesh!
