6 Ways To Make The First Day of School Special

The first day of school is always a big moment each year, and every kid from pre-school to high school deserves a special one.  To help make the day a memory your child will never forget, here are six ways to make the first day of school special.

  Make their favorite breakfast: Whether it’s pancakes or a delicious breakfast sandwich, your child will appreciate waking up to their favorite breakfast.

  Funny Wake-Up Call: Speaking of waking up, if your child uses their cell phone as an alarm, call their phone a la a hotel wake-up call, and have a funny message ready. Sure…they may be a bit groggy and grumpy, but we guarantee they’ll look back on the wake-up call as a funny memory.

  Include their favorite snack in their lunch: Is it cookies? Or chips? Maybe your child can’t get enough of various fruits. Either way, make sure it’s included in their lunch.

  Rock a new hairdo: A new year deserves a new ‘do. Your child will likely need a haircut before the school year anyway; why not try something new?

  Surprise them with an after-school snack: Most after-school snacks should be on the healthy side, but for the first day, perhaps some ice cream could be in order. For high school kids, maybe their favorite coffee drink.

  Take photos: Okay…this one’s more for the parents/grandparents/other extended family members, but the school year goes by fast. It’s never bad to take a moment to cherish the day, too.
