Nipsey Hussle Discusses ‘Racks In The Middle’
Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle recently broke down his new single “Racks In The Middle” with Genius.
As an investor of several properties in his hometown of LA, Nispey Hussle is no stranger to talking about how to create wealth. While explaining some of the lyrics to “Racks In The Middle,” Hussle talked about how he’s not okay with just securing temporary finances.
“I’ve never been one of those people that could be comfortable with being careless. Some people I noticed the quality that they just don’t have the pressure on they self. They just have a little bit of comfort that I don’t have. I don’t feel comfortable unless I know I went above and beyond with my preparation,” Nipsey Hussle said.
“The things that possibly could happen, if I ain’t take real steps to prevent those things, I’m not comfortable. I can’t walk around charismatic and happy. Nawl. I gotta make sure we setting up some type of wealth cause we might have a little bag right now, but we know a lot of people have a bag right now. And they ended up bad.”
Hussle also talked about how dedicated he was to making sure that his debut studio album, Victory Lap was a success.
“I knew when I was making Victory Lap that the point I was at in my career, I wasn’t gone do nothing else until I felt I had an album with 14 or 16 great songs,” he said.
“My whole process was like when it blow me away I’mma be ready to move. When I listen to it, top to bottom and I get the chills from it and I hear a person in this music then I’mma be ready to go.”
Victory Lap dropped last February as a follow up to his 2014 mixtape Mailbox Money, and the album charted no. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also received a Grammy nomination for best rap album at the 61st Grammy Awards.
The video for the Sergio- directed “Racks In The Middle” was released two weeks ago.
