Kamaiyah Pays Tribute To Black Panthers And Missy Elliott In New ‘Windows’ Video Featuring Quavo And Tyga
Oakland rapper Kamaiyah recently dropped the visuals to her single, “Windows,” featuring Quavo and Tyga, which pays homage to the Black Panthers, Nipsey Hussle, Missy Elliott, and Hype Williams.
“Windows” opens up with Kamaiyah standing on top of an old police vehicle while she’s surrounded by men and women dressed in all black with their fists in the air resembling the Black Panthers.
Quavo then raps his verse while standing on top of a yellow school bus alongside Kamaiyah, who sports a blue vest and an airbrushed t-shirt with the late Nipsey Hussle’s face on it.
Takeoff also makes a cameo in the video, appearing during Quavo’s scene. While also paying homage to the Bay area, Kamaiyah uses the “Windows” video to also honor Missy Elliott and Hype Williams. She mimics some of Elliott’s moves from her Hype Williams-directed video for her 1997 single, “The Rain.”
“Windows” also features several clips that were shot using Williams’ signature fisheye lens style. Tyga appears in the video rapping his verse alongside Kamaiyah and Quavo while in between two lambos.
“Everything that we do get stolen. If you don’t f**k with us, then you really are against us. Mother f**ker stop stealing our culture,” she raps on the upbeat track.
