2019 BET Hip-Hop Awards: Cardi B Leads With 10 Nominations
The 2019 BET Hip-Hop Awards nominations are here, and Cardi B leads with 10 nominations, as Billboard reports.
The annual award show will return to Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center on Oct. 5 after taking place in Miami for the last two years.
Last year, Drake had eight nominations at the ceremony, but this year he only has seven.
Last year, Cardi B collected four wins, and this year she’s up for MVP of the Year, Hot Ticket Performer, Hustler of the Year, Best Collaboration, Single of the Year, Made-You-Look award, and two nominations for the Best Hip-Hop Video, and Sweet 16 categories.
DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, and J. Cole are tied with eight nominations, and although Nipsey Hussle passed earlier this year, the LA rapper has five nods.
Newcomer Megan Thee Stallion has five also, while DaBaby has collected four nominations.
This year, there will also be a new category that will highlight international artists from various countries such as Nigeria, UK, France, South Africa, Canada, and Ghana.
