11 Easy Spring Cleaning Tasks

It’s just about everyone’s favorite time of year again…Spring Cleaning Time!

The hardest part about spring cleaning is knowing where to start. Lucky for you, we’re here to help.

First step is to make a checklist. This will include all of the things you hope to accomplish around your house. It will be easy to break the list down and categorize by rooms. This list should include the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, bedrooms, and other rooms you wish to tackle. To help you better organize, print a cleaning checklist HERE.

Next, you’ll need to decide which things you would like to prioritize first. We have listed 11 tasks below of  easy things you can start off with.

• Disinfect Everything

  Things you touch on a daily basis should be disinfected regularly. Touch points in every room, electronics, etc.

• Wash Baseboards, Window Sills, Walls, Etc.

  These are very easy tasks to accomplish. You might not realize how dirty they are until you get up close!

• Dusting the Blinds

  Share

  Lots of dust can build up on the blinds from neglect. After cleaning them, you might have forgotten their original color!
• Reaching High Places

  Share

  Be careful when you need to clean things out of reach. Celling fans and changing smoke alarms need your attention, but make sure you do it safely!

• Vacuuming and Mopping

  Floors get the most action from dirty shoes, food and drink spills. Keep them shiny and clean with a quick vacuum or mop.

• Dust Light Fixtures and Lamp Shades

  Double check to see if lightbulbs need to be replaced when cleaning. Also, make sure you turn the bulb off before doing this or you could burn yourself!
• Organize Laundry Space

  Dirty clothes can pile up and it is important to have a clean and organized space for when you finally get to wash them!

• Light Switches

  These can be dusty or very germy depending on how many people in your house touch it daily.

• Check Labels and Discard Old Products

  This can include medications, makeup, food, and other products you might not realize go bad.
• Disinfect Shower and Tub

  Share

  It is important to do a deep clean for a space you use on a daily basis. Replace shower liners, wash bathmats, etc.

• Clean Out the Pantry

  Share

  Make sure things have not gone bad or expired. Take an inventory to see what you need and have too much of.
