Boston will follow the relaxation of the outdoor mask mandate, effective this Friday April 30th. The City will also allow public gatherings to increase to 100 people indoors and 150 outdoors on Friday. In addition, Janey stated that the city will go by the state’s updated guidance and allow stadiums, arenas, and ballparks to increase capacity to 25% on May 10. However, the next phase of the reopening plan, originally set for May 29th, will be delayed.
Effective June 19th – three weeks after the rest of the state:
- Gathering limit increased to 200 indoors and 250 outdoors
- Street festivals, parades, and agricultural festivals are allowed at 50 percent capacity
- Bars, beer gardens, breweries, wineries and distilleries for seated-service only, subject to a 90-minute table limit, and no dance floors. Food will no longer be required with alcohol service, and 10 people can be seated at a table.
If all goes as planned, limitations and capacity restrictions for all industries will be lifted on August 22nd, whereas the rest of the state will be lifted on August 1st.
