Aaliyah’s Uncle Claims Her Mother Knew A Lot More About R. Kelly Relationship
Barry Hankerson, R&B legend Aaliyah’s uncle, has made claims on who exactly knew about the alleged inappropriate relationship between his niece and disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly.
Hankerson went on to the Dr. Oz Show as part of his press tour for Aaliyah’s recently released albums onto streaming services and YouTube which granted him the opportunity to begin disclosing how much Aaliyah’s mother knew about Aaliyah and R. Kelly’s relationship.
When asked if he knew that Aaliyah was allegedly sexually abused by Kelly he responded, “Didn’t have a clue. Completely ignorant to it.” Yet he did mention how other family members knew what was going on.
“I think my sister knew a lot more than what we thought she knew,” Hankerson said of Diane Haughton, Aaliyah’s mother.
The clip began to become viral on social media and fans of the late singer are debating on whether they fully believe the Blackground Records founder.
One fan commented on the clip, “everybody that was her family knew .. y’all knew how old she was and y’all knew how old r kelly was.. stop playing.”
