LL Cool J Used To Laugh At Jay-Z’s Raps When They Were Younger
LL Cool J admitted that he was not feeling Jay-Z’s raps at first and although he doesn’t remembering it happening, he thinks its why he has not been invited to the Jay’s Roc Nation Brunch despite them being cool.
“Look, I hardly remember that stuff,” the NCIS: Los Angeles star responded when asked about laughing at Jay-Z’s raps when they were younger. “I love everybody. I don’t have no problems with none of these guys, man. If I laughed — okay, so what? Laugh at me. How many people have you laughed at, or snapped on, in the lunch room?”
“I don’t even remember it! I laughed at you, so now I can’t have no brunch?” the “Around the Way Girl” rhymer jokingly said.
However, LL Cool J might be too busy to join Jay for lunch since he’ll be on the road with Questlove and Black Thought of The Roots for the F.O.R.C.E. Tour, which the Roots drummer says will be like the star-studded Grammys performance on steroids. Questlove and LL discussed it in a video chat that they shared to Instagram.
“You’ve done arena tours before. I’ve done arena tours before. But I’ve never really felt like they were mine,” Quest shared. “They were always, like, festivals, or opening up for other acts. This is super major, man.”
“You know what I’m excited about, Quest?” LL replied. “When the first snare hits, like…it ain’t stoppin’. We goin’ hard. This is going to be a show unlike anything … I haven’t done an arena tour in many years, you know what I’m sayin’? And I put all my energy into making this thing right. This is like everything we’ve ever done on super-roids. So it’s going to be way more than you can imagine, you know what I’m sayin’?”
“I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel,” said Questlove. “But, I’m also trying to give people something that they’ve never seen before…the way we’re formatting the show, it’s going to be like the Grammys performance on steroids.”
The F.O.R.C.E. Live Tour is set to kick off on June 25 in Boston.
