Kanye On Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, & More In Instagram Rant
In one of Kanye West’s latest rants, he spoke about his ongoing “feud” with Taylor Swift, the alleged Super Bowl incident, and how Swift and Beyoncé are always neck-in-neck on the music charts. In an Instagram post on Wednesday (Feb. 14), Ye posted a screenshot of a Swift fan page on X (formerly known as Twitter) about Beyoncé’s new single “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The page was rallying Swift fans to help Beyoncé’s streaming numbers so that she can debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and not West.
“WHEN I SAID THAT I’M THE NEW JESUS BITCH I WASN’T EVEN THINKING ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT.THAT WAS A WHOLE LINE BEFORE BUT I APPRECIATE THE FREE PROMO. LIL WAYNE ACTUALLY MENTIONS TRAVIS KELSEY [sic] ON VULTURES 2,” Kanye began in the caption, referencing the Midnights singer’s boyfriend Travis Kelce and seemingly dropping that Wayne will be on the second volume of the Vultures trilogy.
Ye goes on to say that Vultures, his joint album with Ty Dolla $ign, which dropped Friday night (Feb. 9), is “super positive” despite the digs at Swift and showing no remorse for his antisemitism. The rapper then notes that the past year has been “challenging” for him, his wife (Yeezy architect Bianca Censori), his four children, whom he shares with ex Kim Kardashian, and his friends and family. He says that he has been banned from hotels, restaurants, and kicked out of companies (seemingly referring to brands such as Adidas, Balenciaga, and more who cut ties with him for his antisemitism).
He then spoke about how Vultures was taken off of streaming platforms to “limit our first week numbers.” While the album is currently on all streaming platforms at the time of this writing, “Good (Don’t Die)” was reportedly taken off due to having elements of Donna Summers’ 1977 hit “I Feel Love.” The rapper compared the alleged blackballing to “THE MISTREATMENT OF MY PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF OUR SKIN.”
Kanye Rants About Taylor Swift and Beyoncé (Again)
Later in the rant, he turns the spotlight back on Swift and Beyoncé first complimenting them by saying they have been “big inspirations to all musicians.” He added that they have shown to be successful as they “both sell-out tours and movies,” referencing Swift’s The Eras Tour and Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, in which both artists debuted their concert films in theaters.
However, after the praise, Ye begins to paint himself as a positive influence in Swift’s career despite the constant attacks over the years — most notably the infamous 2009 VMAS, where he stormed the stage and took the mic from her.
“REMEMBER I WAS ON TAYLOR’S SIDE WHEN SCOOTER BOUGHT HER MASTERS BEHIND HER BACK,” he wrote, adding, “ALSO, I’M SURE I’VE BEEN FAR MORE HELPFUL TO TAYLOR SWIFT’S CAREER THAN HARMFUL. TO ALL TAYLOR SWIFT FANS I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY UUUM IM NOT YOUR FRIEND EITHER THOUGH LOL.”
He then cleared up the alleged Super Bowl incident where former NFL star Brandon Marshall said on the Paper Route Show that Swift kicked Ye out of the game after allegedly being sat in front of her suite.
“ALSO I DIDN’T GET KICKED OUT OF THE SUPER BOWL WE LEFT OUR SEATS TO GO TO YG’S BOX AND SEE DIFFERENT FRIENDS,” he wrote. “MY WIFE HAD NEVER BEEN TO A SUPER BOWL SO I WANTED TO WALK AROUND AND HAVE A NICE TIME WE HAD SUCH A FUN DAY.”
He ended his rant with, “THE MEDIA MAY CONTROL THE NARRATIVE BUT THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN.”
