Cardi B Says She Is Going To Sue LAPD After Making Her Get ‘Butt-Naked’ During Investigation
Cardi B says she is going to sue LAPD after they made her get “butt-naked” during an investigation. The Bronx rapper hopped on Instagram Live and recounted the incident, claiming law enforcement was accusing her of selling drugs until they realized who she was.
“They had all the helicopters in LA,” she said, per HipHopDX. “Yo, I was freaking out. They had me outside for like three hours. They had me getting butt-naked outside. S— was crazy. It was dead— a movie and whatever, but you already know.
That’s when the rapper told law enforcement who she was and threatened to sue due to the whole ordeal.
“I’m about to sue the LAPD. I told them like, ‘Yo, I’m Cardi B. Like, do I look like I gotta sell some s—? Like why would I do that? I would never pull no s— like that.'”
However, explaining who she was didn’t necessarily help as they were unfamiliar with her.
“They didn’t believe me. It was some white cops and they ain’t know who I was,” she concluded. “They was really tough on me and everything. They said somebody gave them a clue. I really feel like it was one of my opps and s—, like they really trying to ruin my life type s—. Like y’all don’t even f—— know. I been going through a lot lately.”
Cardi B Releases New Songs
Cardi B has been on a roll lately, and within the span of five weeks, she has released two solo songs and two features. Her latest song was a feature on Shakira’s “Punteria.”
“I always wanted to do a record with Shakira, and it’s like, wow, it landed on my lap,” she says at the 48:48 mark. “It really landed on my lap, so I got a record coming out with her next week.”
On Shakira’s side, the Latin superstar said that she thought Cardi would make a great fit for “Punteria.”
“We were always discussing internally if it was a good idea to put someone on this song. I always pictured Cardi on this song. I reached out, and here we are,” Shakira said per Billboard.
Prior to “Punteria,” she released “Like What” and “Enough (Miami).” “Like What,” was released earlier this month and samples Missy Elliott‘s 1999 classic “She’s A Bitch.” She also was featured on Flo Milli’s “Never Lose Me,” with SZA. This is the first time SZA, Flo Milli, and Cardi B have been on a song together. Cardi B and SZA have worked together in the past when the rapper joined Summer Walker and the SOS creator on the extended version of “No Love.”
