August Alsina Opens Up About Grief In New Interview
R&B singer August Alsina recently opened up about grief in a new interview.
In an exclusive interview with The Shade Room, the New Orleans artist opened up about his struggles with loss.
“I’m going through my process,” Alsina explained with tears in his eyes. “I’m going through my journey, and I’m not looking for any sympathy because I know that God has me, even when I feel that God doesn’t.”
The “I Luv This S***” singer went on to talk about how he learned about God through his suffering, and from raising his nieces, who lost their mother recently.
The singer, who doesn’t have any children of his own is currently raising his three nieces.
“I don’t have any kids of my own,” Alsina explained. “It makes me want to be what I know I need to be for them because I grew up with my father dead in heaven, and an estranged relationship with my mother…I know what it’s like growing up without having a certain type of foundation.”
The singer-songwriter just recently released his new EP, Forever and a Day, which features Keith Sweat and Ty Dolla $ign.
