Kevin Hart Undergoes Back Surgery, Needs Physical Therapy After Car Crash
Actor and comedian Kevin Hart was recently involved in a car accident that caused him to undergo back surgery, as TMZ reports. A source told the gossip website that the doctors completed a successful surgery on Hart and that he is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days to recover.
It’s been learned that Hart will also have to endure heavy physical therapy in the coming weeks, as TMZ also reports. The actor was riding in the front passenger seat in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda early Sunday morning (Sept. 1) when it veered off Mulholland Highway, leaving the driver of the vehicle and a backseat passenger pinned.
Hart left the scene to get medical attention and was taken to a nearby hospital. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to investigators, but law enforcement is currently investigating excessive speed possibly being the cause of the accident.
The driver of the Barracuda, Jared Black, was taken to UCLA Medical Center via airlift, but his condition is currently unknown. Black’s fiance, Rebecca Broxterman, who is Hart’s wife Eniko Hart’s personal trainer, was riding in the backseat of the car. Broxterman made it out with minimal injuries.
