A part of being a true fashion icon is being able to pull off looks no one else can. Well, the true fashion girls (and guys) know that Teyana Taylor is on the shortlist. When there’s a red carpet event that Teyana is attending, what she’s wearing is always going to be part of someone’s best-dressed list. It’s not just what she’s wearing but how it’s styled on her. She wears many hats in the entertainment industry and her skills as a creative director extend to her wardrobe over and over again.

Teyana Taylor is a singer, dancer, creative director, director, model, actress, and choreographer. Her professional career began when she choreographed the music video for Beyoncé’s single “Ring the Alarm” at the age of 15. Pharrell Williams took notice of her talent and signed her to his label Star Trak Entertainment under Interscope Records the following year as a recording artist. In 2007, she also appeared on MTV’s Sweet 16 where it showed her lavish 16th birthday party.

Under Pharrell’s label, she released “Google Me,” the lead single to her debut mixtape, titled From a Planet Called Harlem. The mixtape was released in 2009. Prior to her release from Pharrell’s label in 2012, she began working with Kanye West. She has two uncredited features on “Dark Fantasy” and “Hell of a Life” from West’s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. She would later leave Pharrell’s label to go to West’s G.O.O.D. Music in 2012.

Taylor has released three studio albums in her career. Her latest LP is The Album, which was released in 2020 and became her second No. 1 on Top R&B Albums according to Billboard. However, in 2020, she announced to her fans that she was “retiring this chapter of my story” due to feeling underappreciated.

Teyana In Fashion

In fashion, Teyana made her debut collection with the Jordan brand titled: Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 “A Rose From Harlem.” The capsule project debuted back in June and sold out within minutes.

“Roses do not bloom hurried; for beauty, like any masterpiece, takes time to blossom [rose emoji].” Taylor wrote in an Instagram post announcing the partnership. “I wanted my first Jordan creation to represent my journey as a rose growing thru concrete but also an ode to all the ROSES just like me!”

Wherever Teyana chooses to do with her career we can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

  The styling of this look from the hair to the shoes has "Teyana Taylor" written all over it. The singer is wearing a sheer full length body suit that is embroidered with colorful flowers. She added a high waisted leather mini and and floral shoes that are an exact match to the bodysuit. She decided to wear her hair in bleach blonde faux locs which added another element of her personal touch.

  We've seen women wear suits on red carpets before but this one is on another level. She wore a striped floor length suit dress to Rihanna's 4th Annual Diamond Ball. The dress is even detailed to have a white undershirt and black neck tie. This is definitely one of Teyana's most creative outfits.

  Teyana is slaying in this seemingly basic outfit. But there is a tribute behind this white and black outfit. At the 2017 MTV Music Awards, Teyana paid homage to Janet Jackson with her red carpet look. Janet wore a similar outfit at the 1995 MTV VMAs. Teyana wore a white crop top, black pants and was accessorized by her killer abs.

  For 2023 NYFW Teyana showed out. The singer wore a cherry red trench coat with fur, brown suede pants, and matching ultra mini crop top. Her accessories really pulled the look together with her oversize red pilot sunglasses and gold statement necklace.

  Teyana makes a cutout dress look absolutely incredible. For the amfAR Cannes Gala, Teyana wore a floor-length black gown with a cutout in the middle that showed off her insane abs. The singer kept her hair in a sleek pixie cut which focused the detail on her gorgeous makeup and unique lip ring.

  You could not miss Teyana at the 2022 Met Gala. The theme that year was "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" and Teyana did exactly that. She wore a beautiful purple gown with an array of shades as well as a unique hair piece. Her hair was slicked back and her baby hairs were on point adding to the allure of the head piece.

  Teyana and transforming menswear just go hand in hand. She pulled off another impressive menswear look for this year's Met Gala. The theme was Celebrating "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty." She took a plaid suit and added a matching maxi skirt, with the dress shirt and tie detail at the top. What really made this look stand apart from others was the cut out on both sides. Teyana also wore a fishnet head piece and rocked black shades and a mini backpack to the event.

  For the celebration of Kim Kardashians' SKIMS and Swarovski collaboration, Teyana showed up in her jewels as well making it a memorable red carpet look. She wore a shiny crystal bra that went up to her neckline and draped to the side of her. The singer paired it with a maxi black skirt that also matched the top's shimmery appearance. For her hair, she wore boho faux locs in an intricate updo. She also added diamond bracelets and rings to tie in the glam look.
