Nothing warms your heart like being out on the open road, taking in the sights of roadside Americana, the smell of all things fresh and alive in the air, when suddenly your car is swallowed by a gaping crater in the Earth. Hooray for potholes!
Not a day goes by where I don’t see a car in front of me make a wild dodging motion. I always think to myself “don’t look, don’t look, don’t look” expecting to see a massive hunk of roadkill in the road, only to be surprised (every time) by a big ol’ pothole. It’s a split-second decision – is it safe to weave right, or left, or can I fit that pothole between my tires? If you don’t think quickly enough the Earth crater swallows your car whole – like Joey Chestnut and a poor hot dog on the 4th of July – reading havoc on your car’s vitals.
According to AAA, U.S. drivers spend nearly $3 billion a year fixing damage caused by potholes. So QuoteWizard did a little research and tabulated the worst states for potholes in the US and non-surprisingly New England occupies a few slots in the Top 15. Here, have a look! Happy (safe) driving and have fun cussing out those holes!
