Jay-Z’s ‘Blueprint’ Album To Be Inducted Into The Library Of Congress
Hov has some exciting news.
The Brooklyn rapper’s The Blueprint album will be inducted into the Library of Congress, CBS News notes. The Blueprint is Jay-Z’s sixth studio album, which features his singles “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and “Song Cry.” Hov’s album is among 25 records to be inducted.
The Blueprint will be added to the National Recording Registry alongside hit songs by Sam & Dave, Earth Wind & Fire, and music from Curtis Mayfield’s Superfly soundtrack.
“The National Recording Registry honors the music that enriches our souls, the voices that tell our stories, and the sounds that mirror our lives,” said Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden.
The Blueprint, which was certified platinum by the RIAA was released in 2001, as part of a three-part series, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Kanye West, Just Blaze, Bink, Timbaland, and Trackmasters all produced on the album.
In 2017, the “Apesh**” rapper was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
