Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert Welcome Baby No. 2
On Sunday (Sept. 6), Teyana Taylor gave birth to her second child at home; it was, apparently, the second time she gave birth at home. On Monday (Sept. 7), Taylor’s husband, Iman Shumpert took to Instagram, announcing the arrival of baby Rue Rose. The NBA star confirmed that Rue Rose Shumpert was born in the bathroom as her older sister, Iman Tayla (affectionately called Junie) had been, almost five years ago.
“At 3:28 am on Sept 6th, 2020 Rue Rose decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit. She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!!” Shumpert wrote on the social media platform while sharing a video of the new baby.
“Now…when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy… but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital! Our newest edition entered the world in the water and came out looking around and ready to explore!”
“A healthy child. A little sister. Another daughter. Black love wins….again. Welcome babygirl…we love you!” Shumpert continued. “We love you Rue, welcome baby girl,” Taylor wrote on Instagram, re-sharing the video that her husband shared. Rue Rose’s arrival was celebrated the day before she entered the world. The family hosted a red-themed baby shower in Atlanta filled with balloons and celebrity guests.
Apparently, Erykah Badu assisted with the birth of Rue Rose. The “Window Seat” singer took to Instagram on Tuesday (Sept. 8) to thank the parents for allowing her to help. She shared a video of herself charging baby t-shirts with crystals. “They did that. Thank you both for allowing me to assist. Love, proud Badoula- aka “The welcoming Committee “Shine Rue !! (Film by e.B.),” Badu wrote in the caption of her video.
As we previously reported, Taylor and Shumpert revealed that they were expecting in Taylor’s video ‘Wake Up Love,” which features Shumpert. Towards the end of the video, the married couple is joined by their daughter, Junie, in bed before she lifts up Taylor’s t-shirt to reveal her new growing baby bump. Shumpert then attempts to place his hand on Taylor’s belly. However, Junie repeatedly moves her father’s hand out of the way as she attempts to touch her new growing sibling. The trio then looks directly into the camera and waves.
