SZA was dragged into the Drake vs everyone feud as he name-drops his "Slime You Out" partner in his diss track "Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50)." However, she had a hilarious response to being mentioned in Drake's diss track.
"Pipsqueak, pipe down/You ain’t in no Big 3, SZA got you wiped down/Travis [Scott] got you wiped down/[21] Savage got you wiped down/Like your label, boy, you in the scope right now!" Drake rapped on "Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50)."
After Drake's diss track circulated the internet, SZA shared a clip of NeNe Leakes during a Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion saying her now-viral phrase: "Now why am I in this? You see how I get thrown into it? I ain’t even did nothing" which expressed how SZA feels about the name drop in Drake's diss track.
Drake & SZA's Relationship Now
This is not the first time Drake has name-dropped SZA's name on a song. In "Mr. Right Now," he raps: "Yeah, said she wanna f--- to some SZA, wait/Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08/If you cool with it, baby, she can still play."
While SZA confirmed that they did date previously, the timeline is off and it would have put the New Jersey native at under the age of 18 at the time.
"So it was actually 2009 lol," she wrote clarifying Drake's story. "In this case a year of poetic rap license mattered. Lol I think he just innocently rhymed 08 w wait. Anybody who really knows me and was around during this time can confirm.. it’s all love all peace."
"I just didn’t want anybody thinking anything underage or creepy was happening. Completely innocent. Lifetimes ago," she added.
The two later collaborated last year for the lead single "Slime You Out" on Drake's For All The Dogs. SZA later stated that Drake ended up using her draft copy of her verse instead of her final.
"I just handed in the first draft to Drake, and he’s putting it on his album," she told the Wall Street Journal back in October. "I’m scared because I handed in second vocals and he didn’t use that. And now I’m like, ‘Are you trying to sabotage me?'"
She added that wasn't Drake's intention saying "I literally know that’s not true, but that’s how bad I feel about my first draft."
The two ended up linking up again for the "scary hours edition" of the album on "Rich Baby Daddy" with Sexxy Red.
