The Drake Curse Continues, Loses Another Half A Million On Stanley Cup Final
The Drake curse continues. So you may remember that Drake bet $500,000 on the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA Finals. You’ll probably remember just one week ago, things did not go according to Drake’s plan. Of course the Boston Celtics won the NBA Finals in five games. So that would put Drake out a cool half a million dollars. Fast forward to last night and the Stanley Cup Final. Drake, obviously being from Canada, felt he needed to be loyal to the Canadian team and bet yet another $500,000 for the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup. Unfortunately for Drake, that did not happen. The Florida Panthers ended up winning the Stanley Cup by a score of 2-1. That puts Drake’s net losses in the past week at one million dollars. That sets up the fact that the Drake curse is very real.
The Drake Curse is real
Drake’s “curse” goes as far back as 2019. First, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. made his MLB debut in 2019. He ended up meeting Drake who was his favorite player. Soon after, Guerrero fell into a 2-for-15 slump over his next four games. Then of course there was the NBA Finals in 2016. Drake lost $60K betting on the Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals to French Montana. You can talk about Serena Williams who was on the brink of a historic season in 2015 but after kissing Drake, ended up losing in one of the most sunning upsets in women’s tennis history. The list goes on and on.
So what will be next for Drake? Let’s just come to the agreement that whichever team Drake bets on or whatever he does, chances are, things may not fare well for whoever he bets on.
