Patriots Linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley Brings Gifts to Boston Homeless Shelters
New England Patriots middle linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley visited three Boston homeless shelters to deliver Christmas gifts before the holidays. Bentley collaborated with the nonprofit Heading Home to decorate the shelters for Christmas and spread some holiday cheer with gifts.
Bentley, who experienced homelessness as a child, told 7 News Boston that helping those undergoing hardship hits home for him.
“This made my entire day. As much as they think I’m doing much for them, I feel like they’re doing a whole lot for me as well, especially around the holiday season,” he said.
Throughout the year, Heading Home provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, and permanent homes for adults and children currently or formerly experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts. Last year, the organization supported 8,000 people and 3,195 families experiencing homelessness. To donate or volunteer, visit Heading Home’s website.
