Live music and beer go together like milk and cookies. Or how about Boston and sports. Lennon and McCartney?  Let’s try this…peanut butter and banana.  You’re picking up what I’m putting down, right? We love live music, comedy and art of any kind in Boston. We love beer too,  and now a new outdoor live performance venue is open and serving you food and cold beverages for the season. Mayor Wu announced that starting today, Thursday May 4 through November 1, the Uncommon Stage and Trillium Garden on the country’s first public park is be open for business. Spring in Boston just got better.  Yup, it’s here! The cool new Boston Common beer garden and performance stage.

Get all the details below. Everything you need to know, from how many seats, to hours of operation, location and more are conveniently presented here. It’s part of a partnership with the Boston Parks and Recreation department and Emerson College. And it’s part of Boston Common Master Plan, which aims to bring new activities to underused park spaces. Another way to enjoy our amazing city!   • What it looks like

    Doesn’t this look cool? Live art, a gather space, and frankly, a place to help generate revenue for the city. It’s all coming to life!

  • Where is it on the Common

    You’ll find the awesome new venue in the corner of the park, at Tremont and Boylston Streets. It’s right near the Boylston Street MBTA station, and Emerson College.

    PARKING
    : There are a multitude parking garages nearby, the closest is the Boston Common Garage located at Charles St, Boston, MA 02116 and the Boston Common Theatre District Garage located at 47 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02111.

  • Hours of Operation

    Opening Day: Thursday, May 4 at 5:15 p.m

    Mayor Wu will be on hand, with the Parks and Rec Department, Emerson College and Trillium Brewing. There will be a ribbon cutting celebrating the Grand Opening of the venue. 

    The Trillium Garden will be open:

    Wednesday and Thursday: 4-9 p.m. 

    Friday and Saturday: 12-9 p.m.

    Sunday: 12-6 p.m.

  • The Venue space and seating

    According to The Boston Globe, the new performance space is 5,000 square feet. It seats 420 people.

  • The Uncommon Stage Entertainment Schedule

    Emerson College’s Uncommon Stage will feature mostly music. Some of it live, while deejays will also handle some of the entertainment. Other perfomances include comedy show and book readings. You can get a complete schedule HERE.

    Food will be available. The city has partnered with Taqueria El Barrio to serve food during performances, and when the beer garden is open.

  • Dogs?

    Yes, the patio at the Boston Common Beer Garden and Uncommon stage is dog friendly!  Make sure you pup is on leash, pick up after their messes, and bring ’em along for the show.
