Did you know pizza is one of the most popular food options for Americans? Yup, in fact over 350 slices are consumer every second. Think about that. It means nearly 21,000 slices are eaten in one minute’s time in this country. Mind blowing. Thanks for the fun fact, Eat This Not That.  But wait, there’s more. As relayed in the article, “Historians from the William E. Macaulay Honors College discovered that the lower-income people of Naples would put slices of tomatoes on dough and top it with cheese to make a cheap and easy meal for their families.”

And of course I’m happy to help out with the research for pizza day deals in Massachusetts. So I found a couple of places on my own. What’s your favorite? I’m a big fan of South Shore pizza. You know, that thin crust, bar pizza made famous on Boston’s South Shore area. It’s usually made with a mix of cheddar and mozzarella. And the cheese has to go all the way to the outer edges of the dough. It even touches the pan for that crispy edge. But don’t get me started.
