What are the most popular Missy Elliott Videos? With not only so many to choose from, Missy has the incredible talent to make her videos groundbreaking. She pushed the boundaries of what a music video could be and represent. Her videos are unique, special, and definitely iconic.

Missy Elliott – A Trailblazing Icon

Missy Elliott is an incredibly important figure in hip-hop. She’s a Grammy Award-winning singer, rapper, songwriter and producer. She’s the first female rapper to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, was the first rapper in the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and has had man more honors. She truly is legendary.

While inducting her into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, Queen Latifah had this to say about Missy. “Trust me, nothing sounded the same after Missy Elliott came on the scene.” Nothing. All the kick snares, everything changed. The bass lines changed, the pockets changed, the cadence, the writing. And that’s because Missy has always been a futurist, someone who’s always looking ahead.”

Missy Elliott videos and fashion

Missy’s influence in hip-hop music isn’t the only area of the genre that she’s been an innovator and influencer. She’s also been an influence in the area of hip-hop fashion. Over the years, she’s incorporated elements of oversized athletic wear, futuristic themes, streetwear, and high fashion. Back in February, she posted on Twitter (now X), and shared a video of herself wearing all the original outfits that she wore in some of her most iconic videos. I love that she still has the original clothes from the videos. Here’s the video.
